Hyderabad: Hyderabad police on Saturday seized 20 grams of cocaine and 9 MDMA pills and busted a drug racket with the arrest of a Nigerian national from his residence in Banjara Hills.

Acting on tip-off, Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team arrested Jaun Paul, a native of Lagos state in Nigeria who was found dealing cocaine and Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA).

Police say in October 2008, he had first come to Kerala on a visiting visa. In 2015, he had shifted to Hyderabad and used to visit Goa regularly where he frequented pubs and bars. He used to purchase cocaine in Goa at a relatively cheaper price and sell it in Hyderabad and also in Goa.

Police said that the Mapusa Police in Goa had arrested the accused on 2016 while he was trying to sell ganja. After spending some time in jail, he was shifted to Hyderabad and started staying at Jawahar Nagar near Yapral at the outskirts of the city.

However, the jail stint did not deter Juan who continued selling cocaine to needy customers in the city. In 2017, he along with his friends were arrested by LB Nagar police, who seized 7 grams of cocaine and put him into jail for 11 months.

After coming out from jail, he shifted his residence to Syed Nagar, Road No.12 in Banjara Hills. Juan was purchasing cocaine for Rs 5,000 per gram at Goa and selling the same to customers for Rs 7,000 to Rs 8,000 per gram in Hyderabad.
