Going details into the case, the petitioner Chandrasekhar was caught drunk driving on June 15 last years at VST crossroads. He was caught for having consumed seven times more alcohol than permissible level. He was given sentence by trail court. But the petitioner's counsel requested to take lenient view as he was likely to lose his job. The public prosecutor told that court that he deserved no sympathy because he was caught for similar offence in 2015.

So the court awarded punishment to Chandrasekhar. Confirming the sentence once again, HC Justice Kesava Rao said, "The petitioner did not learn any lesson from his earlier conviction. The punishment should serve as a deterrent for him and others."
