Chappals thrown at Kanna Lakshminarayana - Sakshi Post

Nellore: Chappals were hurled at BJP Andhra Pradesh president Kanna Lakshminarayana near here today. It is learnt that the attack was purportedly done by a TDP worker while Kanna was attending a rally near Kavali in Nellore district. The BJP workers who were present at the venue immediately caught hold of the culprit and bashed him up.

It is learnt even after the police got custody of the culprit and was taking him, BJP workers followed them to bash him up. Later, to protest against the chappal attack on state BJP president, the party workers staged a sit-in in front of the police station. The BJP said it would bring an end to TDP's rowdy governance in the state.

Reacting harshly to the incident, BJP MLC Somu Veerraju said that TDP leaders were unnecessarily indulging in dirty politics, which would turn fatal for their party. He slammed the TDP for sending rowdies to attack his house also. He reminded that the party had met home minister, DGP and Governor in this regard.

He further said that BJP would soon tour the state to inform public as to what their party had contributed to the state's welfare. Fearing that the tour would be successful and TDP would lose its footing, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu was resorting to such acts, he added.
