Hunt on for 'psychokiller'

Search operations have been intensified to apprehend the psycho-killer, who murdered three persons while they were travelling in a Chennai-bound Bhadrachalam-depot RTC bus, near Tada in the SPS Nellore district on Thursday.

Police suspect that the psycho-killer is roaming in the Chittoor district. The police are combing the Pachhavalli forest area and its neighbouring places Kuripakam, Chilamattur and Pacchavalla in Chittoor district.

The neighboring division police have also been put on high alert. However, the villagers are afraid of venturing out for work in the areas around chittoor and Nellore.

Police said that the murderer wore black trousers and red T-shirt and looked lean and about 5.4 feet tall. Forest officer, Shankarappa said one person who was wearing red T-shirt and same built like psycho samba appeared in the forest. When he tried to nab the suspected person, he fled from the spot.

Though there were no exact details of the culprit, police said the possibility of involvement of ‘psycho killer’ Sambasiva Rao, who escaped from prison recently, and “Kerala killer” Antony, was ruled out.
