Burglars leave aged women in pool of blood, flee with valuables

Vizag: 80-year old woman was robbed of her gold ornaments and murdered by unidentified persons, who barged into her house at the fishermen colony near here, police said today.

The victim K Yellaiahamma, was fast asleep when the assailants slit her throat last night and fled with three tolas of gold.
 No arrests have been made so far and searches are on to nab the accused, police added. The miscreants have made away with jewellery estimated to be worth about Rs one lakh. The old lady was all alone at home, when she was allegedly done to death. According to police, the women’s neck had been butchered with a lethal weapon. In what could be ascertained as a murder for gain, the assailants have decamped with finger rings and a pair of earring.

Cops are presently questioning neighbours, alcohol addicts and domestic helps in the neighborhood for clues about the incident or any culprit.
