Hudhud Shame: "Would you accept crumbs thrown at you?"
A war of words broke out between the main opposition YSRCP and ruling TDP members in Andhra Pradesh Assembly as YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy questioned the TDP government on its failure to provide relief and rehabilitation to the cyclone affected people.
It began when TDP minister Atchannaidu tried to poke YS Jagan by levelling personal allegations.
Discussing Hudhud impact, YS Jagan pointed out that food packets were distributed in areas where there are no people and that the packets were thrown from vehicles tops.
" Would you take food packets if they were thrown at you? If you don't, how would you expect the victims accept them?, "YS Jagan asked the TDP MLAs.
He further asked the TDP members as to why they could not supply food packets to every home. " Is this the way you treat the victims. Civil society would hang its head in shame" he roared.
On the other hand, the TDP MLAs continuously accused YS Jagan by deliberately raising about the pending cases.
The TDP members tried to provoke YS Jagan by using objectionable language .The opposition party members went to the speaker's podium and demanded an apology from TDP leader Atchannaidu. Amid the ruckus, the house adjourned for 10 minutes.
The YSRCP members continued their protest even after the house adjourned.
They demanded the deputy speaker that Atchennaidu words be removed from the records. At one state, there was a minor fisticuff between the YSRCP and TDP leaders. They pushed each other and tension situation prevailed for sometime. However, senior leaders intervened and pacified them.
