"How would anyone drink this water?"
* Jagan reviews works in Pulivendula
* Takes officials to task over poor quality of water
* Wants Gandikota water to save crops
"How would anyone drink this water," queried YSRCP chief and Leader of Opposition in AP Assembly, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Non-plussed officials, had no answer when Jagan thrust a bottle of highly contaminated, opaque water into their hands.
When Jagan was reviewing the developmental works in Pulivendula constituency, locals showed him a bottle of contaminated water. "This water is no better than drainage water," they said and urged Jagan to intervene.
Showing the bottle to the officials, Jagan directed them to closely monitor the drinking water quality.
He inquired about the issuance of ration cards, welfare pensions and crop losses of farmers. The Pulivendula MLA spent a busy day meeting hundreds of people and series of review meetings on developmental works.
He demanded the government to get additional water to Gandikota reservoir and rescue the farmers.
