Honor Killing in Hyderabad; 1 Suspect Held

Hyderabad: In a rare incident, Hyderabad, the Pearl City, witnessed an honor killing in the wee hours on Thursday. Lalit Aditya, 28, was killed at Sachivalayanagar in Vanasthalipuram.

Police arrested one suspect Yashwanth, who is believed to have engaged a supari gang to kill Aditya, who married Sushruta on November 9, 2015, against the wish of her parents. After preliminary investigation, the police suspect that Sushruta family is behind this murder.

Half-a-dozen people came by Tata Sumo with Karnataka registration number in the early hours of Thursday and attacked Aditya with iron rods and stabbed him to death. Aditya's family and Sushruta family members have been at loggerheads ever since their marriage. A search is on to trace the supari gang. Aditya works in a private company in Gujarat and frequently visits Hyderabad.
