Holi spirit envelopes city

Hyderabadis woke up to a colourful morning on Wednesday. Festive spirit filled the air with denizens of the city celebrated the arrival of spring with colours.

A rainbow of colours covered roads in several parts of the city. Enthusiastic youngsters kick-started the celebrations quite early with pichkaris, balloons to spray water at one another.
Some socially-conscious citizens chose to stick to dry colours to avoid water wastage. On the other hand, most shops in the city chose to sell natural gulal this year.
As the city immersed in colours, youngsters also gorged on yummy snacks and special drinks made on the occasion. Water guns,  balloons were in much demand as vendors did brisk business to cash in on the festive spirit.
With technology making instant messenging possible, youngsters posted pictures of their holi celebrations on to social networking sites to share it with their friends.
