Helmet, Seat Belt Mandatory In Vijayawada From Friday
Vijayawada: Making the helmet and seat belt mandatory from Friday, the city police and the district collector Lakshmikantham took out a helmet awareness rally in the city.
The police and other government officials participated in the rally by wearing helmet along with the DCP Kranti Rana. Addressing the rally, the collector said that the rules must be implemented from Friday to curb the fatal road accidents in the district. She also said that there is a high rise in the number of two-wheeler accidents in the city and in Krishna district.
Following the decision of district road safety committee at a meeting on Wednesday, helmet for two-wheeler and seat belt for four-wheeler was made mandatory.
