Vishakapatnam: Rainfall is likely to occur at several places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, including heavy showers in north coastal Andhra under the influence of the low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the low pressure area is likely to become well-marked during the next 24 hours. As the low pressure continues in the North part of the Bay of Bengal, coastal Andhra is expected to receive more rainfall from June 25. Some other regions in the state would also witness heavy rainfall.

“The low pressure in the North Bay Of Bengal is likely to influence the central Bay of Bengal. Due to this the coastal region will receive heavy rainfall," an IMD official said.

Some areas in the state, which are reeling under intense heatwave, will get respite with these rains.. On Friday, Tirupati recorded 39 degree Celsius.
