Little Meena Slips To 200 Feet After Fateful Fall In Borewell

Hyderabad: 18-month-old Meena, who fell into a dried-up borewell on June 22 has slipped beyond 200 feet.

According to rescue workers, which included personnel from NDRF, ONGC, district firefighters and police, the cameras which were sent down to 200 feet were not able to locate her. "Every effort is being made to bring the girl alive to the surface," state minister Mahender Reddy said. District collector Raghunandan Rao is coordinating the rescue operations. Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is said to be monitoring the rescue efforts.

It may be recalled that Meena fell into a abandoned borewell on Thursday in Ikkareddyguda near Chevella in Ranga Reddy district. Rescue efforts which began on Thursday night are continuing when reports last came in.
