Handloom weaver kills self in Telangana

Karimnagar: A 45-year-old debt-ridden handloom weaver on Tuesday committed suicide by hanging from ceiling fan at his residence in Sircilla town in the district, police said.

Swargam Mahesh of B Y Nagar took the extreme step as he was unable to financially support his wife and four children, Sircilla Deputy Superintendent of Police, Damera Narsaiah said. He had borrowed Rs 2 lakh from private financiers and constructed a house in Indiramma colony, the officer said.

A case has been registered and investigations are underway, police said.
