3-year Jail for Tehsildar in Bribery Case - Sakshi Post

An Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Vijayawada sentenced a tehsildar who was caught accepting bribe to three years' imprisonment and also Rs60,000 fine.The accused Nageshwar Rao had worked as tehsildar of Kapileswarapuram mandal in East Godavari district in 2007. He was assigned by the district collector to inquire into an issue related to the land of Venkateshwar Rao, Ramarao and Peri Raju which was illegally occupied by others. When Nageshwar Rao demanded a bribe of Rs20,000 to write the inquiry report in favor of the complainants, they approached the ACB which caught the accused red-handed. The ACB proved the offense in the court with solid evidence to send the official to jail.
