Guntur Rickshaw Puller Lures Minor With Chocolates To Molest Her

Close on the heels of Kathua and Unnao rape cases, a 9-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 55-year-old man in Guntur. Though the unfortunate incident took place yesterday, it came to light when locals staged a protest this morning at Dachepalli highway demanding the arrest of the accused.

The incident was reported around 2 pm yesterday when the accused Subbaiah, a rickshaw puller lured the girl with chocolates when she was playing outside her home. He took her to an isolated place and sexually assaulted her. Subbaiah then dropped the girl home and fled the spot. The girl disclosed the matter to her parents while complaining of stomach ache. She was immediately taken to hospital where the doctor stated that the girl was sexually violated after they noticed multiple injuries on her body.

The parents lodged a complaint with the police and demanded immediate arrest of the accused. Locals also joined the protest by burning tyres and raising slogans against the accused. They also caught hold of the accused's son and thrashed him.

The police rescued him and promised to arrest the accused. The protesters have also set a 3pm deadline to the police to nab the culprit.
