Government to shut 1,284 schools in AP

The state government has decided to soon close 1,284 government schools where the student strength is less than 10.

Speaking to the media, Primary Education Minister Sailajanath said that the government had already identified the schools that have a minor strength. Of the 1,284 schools with a handful of students, 800 schools do not have any students and the rest have only four to five students.
