Girl injured after being pushed before speeding truck

Hyderabad: A college girl sustained injuries today after an acquaintance pushed her before a running truck in Khammam district of Telangana.

The incident took place this afternoon in Yellandu area of Khammam, when the girl, in her 20s, was walking on the road in conversation with the acquittance and he suddenly pushed her before the speeding truck which dashed her aside, a senior police officer told PTI, based on preliminary information.

As per information available, the girl is known to the person and both of them were talking when the incident occurred. She suffered injuries in the incident and has been admitted to a hospital. She is still unconscious and once she gains consciousness we will record her statement. The person is absconding, the police officer said.

A case on charges of attempt to murder and assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty under relevant sections of the IPC has been booked in connection with the incident, police said, adding, further probe into the matter is on.
