Girija Vaidyanathan Takes Charge As TN Chief Secretary

Chennai: Girija Vaidyanathan assumed charge as the new Chief secretary of Tamil Nadu, here on Friday.

She is the 45th Chief Secretary of the state and the fourth woman officer to assume the top post. Vaidyanathan shall also hold full additional charge of the post of Vigilance Commissioner and Commissioner for Administrative Reforms. Her appointment was announced by the state government on Thursday. After assuming charge, the Chief Secretary called on Chief Minister O Panneerselvam.

Her appointment to the top post followed the IT raids in the residence and office of her predecessor P Rama Mohana Rao.
