Gas found instead of water in borewell

Putlagunta vilage in the West Godavari district has been suffering from severe water scarcity due to the failure of monsoons in the past two years. One borewell was dug in the village under the Indra Jala Prabha scheme, but surprisingly instead of water, gas is coming out.

According to reports, the borewell drilling started from early morning and dug up for 230ft but failed to get water. Soon after they stopped drilling, it filled up with gas.
