French Consulate In US Evacuated Due To Hoax Bomb Threat
New York: A hoax bomb threat to French consulate in the US has sent the authorities into a tizzy on Saturday evening.
The threat came at about 5 pm, even as the French citizens in the US were voting. The authorities immediately evacuated the inmates. Extensive searches revealed no bomb, except an unclaimed cellphone with a battery charger. Interestingly, despite the threat, French citizens turned up to vote for the presidential elections.
Ever since the infamous Paris attacks, France has been in a state of emergency. On Thursday, a Islamist killed a Paris cop. He was shot dead by the security forces. Later searches showed that he had a note praising ISIS on his person.
