Four youths held for consuming drugs in New Year bash

Four students were arrested today for allegedly consuming drugs during the New Year revelry and 150 gm of cannabis seized from them at Mangalghat area in Hyderabad, police said.

The four youths, in their early 20s and studying in different courses, consumed cocaine and methylene di-oxy methamphetamine (MDMA) that was brought by one of the accused Akhil Ekambaram from Goa to celebrate New Year, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) G Sudheer Babu told reporters.

Akhil, along with his friends V Amarjeeth, Rathagiri Chowdhari and Kiran Borker allegedly consumed the contraband last night and came to Balaramgalli locality in Mangalhat area this morning and bought 150 grams of ganja from unknown persons. They were nabbed while leaving the area, he added.
