Four Things That TDP Govt Did To Mar YS Jagan’s Visit to Bus Mishap Site, Nandigama Hospital
The TDP government tried every which way to water down YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's visit to Penuganchiprolu, where the Diwakar Travels Bus fell between two culverts taking 11 lives, and Nandigama Hospital, where the bodies were kept. Here are the four things the Government and the ruling TDP did to thwart YS Jagan's visit:
Shifted bus away from accident site
* Before YS Jagan arrived, the authorities hurriedly shifted the bus that met with accident at Penuganchiprolu in Krishna district. The authorities took the bus away to prevent YS Jagan from inspecting it.
Post-mortem conducted hurriedly
* The police also forced the relatives of the deceaced to take the bodies and leave the place. They also hurriedly got the post-mortem conducted so that the bodies could be handed over before Jagan reached the hospital.
Prevent dharna by relatives
* The police also tried to prevent the relatives of the victims from staging a dharna at Nandigama hospital, where the bodies were kept. The TDP leaders tried to ward them off and the police were also deployed in a large number.
Divide victims over ex-gratia
* YSRCP leader K Parthasarathy demanded that the police should immediately arrest the second driver and question him about how the accident occurred. He demanded that Chandranna Bima scheme be implemented for all the victims regardless of the state of their origin. He decried the AP Government's decision to give Rs 3 lakh ex-gratia to victims from AP and Rs 2 lakh for those from Telangana. Rs 5 lakh would be given only for those for whom Chandranna Bima is applicable.
