Four killed as bus runs over people in Rajamundry - Sakshi Post

Four people were killed and two injured on Sunday when a bus ran over people near Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh, police said.

The accident took place at the Rajahmundry-Morampudi junction when the private school bus, was carrying people to a public meeting in Tanaku of West Godavari district. A 12-year-old boy and a woman were among the dead. The condition of the injured was said to be critical. The bus driver apparently lost control of the vehicle which hit a car and crushed three motorbikes. The bus overturned before coming to a halt. Shocking images of the accident were captured on CCTV cameras. The government has ordered a probe into the accident.

The private school cancelled its association with bus company as they violated the rule by using bus for commercial purposes. Driver is in critical position. After he came in conscious, told police that cause of the accident was break failure. The cross-roads was prone to road accidents. Earlier a Traffic constable was killed in similar accident. The traffic signaling system was also not working at the time of accident.
