Former TDP MLA Sankineni joins YSRCP

Telugu Desam Party leader and former MLA Sankineni Venkateswara Rao on Sunday  joined the YSR Congress Party in the presence of YSRCP honorary president YS Vijayamma at Suryapeta in Nalgonda district.

He  formally joined the party along with thousands of party workers at a large public meeting at Suryapeta.

Sakineni who was close to former chief minister, the late NT Rama Rao, held several posts in the TDP. He has been associated with the TDP and actively participated in the party activities. Sankineni earlier represented Tungathurthi  constitutions in the Assembly but moved to Suryapet.

"Sankineni  is a strong leader in Nalgonda district  whose  political career spans over three decades. His joining the YSRCP will strenthen the party in the region and he can provide a tough challenge to the TDP and TRS, "  said a senior political observer from the region.
