Forgery case against Ramoji Rao over Vizag land issue
Media baron Ramoji Rao faced another jolt from the court on Wednesday. The Vizag court directed the police to register a case against him in connection with a land dispute case on charges of forgery.
M A E K Krishna Varma, the owner of the land where the Eenadu office was housed, moved the court stating that he had evidence of forgery against Ramoji Rao and submitted relavant documnets. The court found them as genuine and directed the III-town police to file a case against Ramoji Rao and submit a detail report before May 6. The police are likely to register a case under Section 120 (B),193,196,471,465,466 and 109 of the IPC against Ramoji Rao.
It may be recalled that Varma, filed a case against Eenadu chairman and his son Kiran alleging that they had allowed the Government to take seven cents of land for road expansion and had taken the land given in lieu.
The Court had taken a strong note of illegally occupying the land and ordered Ramoji Rao to vacate the Eenadu office from Seethammadhara in three months. The court had also ordered him to pay dues which he had defaulted till now.
