Foreign Student Of Nizam College Held For Burglary

Hyderabad: A 27-year-old Somalian national was arrested on Monday for stealing Rs33 lakh cash and three gadgets from a house in Tolichowki area here. The accused identified as Mohammed Wali Ali Mohammed was doing his BBA final year at Nizam College.

"Based on the CCTV camera footage the accused was arrested. As per the footage, he broke into one Shakeel's house and decamped with cash Rs33 lakh cash and gadgets," West Zone DCP A. Venkateswara Rao said.

Ali Mohammed came to India in 2014 on a student visa and he has been studying here. Earlier, he was arrested for peddling ganja and after he was released on bail in August, he decided to commit thefts to meet his expenses, including the lawyer's fees for fighting the drugs case against him.

As per the footage, he broke into one Shakeel’s house and decamped with cash Rs33 lakh cash and gadgets

The officials recovered Rs27 lakh from him, while the rest of money he had spent on himself and gave to his friends.
