Folk Singer Madhupriya's Three Month Old Marriage on the Rocks
Hyderabad: Noted folk singer Madhupriya's husband Srikanth attacked them at their residence in Uppal late on Saturday, her parents stated in a police complaint on Saturday.
They alleged that Srikanth threatened them with dire consequences for filing a harassment case and used foul language against Madhupriya and her relatives. However, Srikanth on his behalf stated that he went to her parent's house because they called him to solve the dispute between the couple through discussions. "They thrashed me when I reached their house in Uppal," he alleged.
Speaking exclusively to Sakshi, Madhupriya stated that Srikanth began harrassing him soon after marriage using foul language. "I have opposed my parents and went ahead with the marriage. Now he states that I should either live or die at his house only," she added.
It may be recalled that on Saturday morning, the singer filed a police complaint stating that Srikanth was torturing her mentally and physically. The attack was said to be a fallout of the police complaint.
The famous singer married Srikanth about three months ago against the wishes of her parents, in a wedding that was widely publicised in the media.
