With BJP establishing a clear lead, it was celebration time for the party workers in Uttar Pradesh. Party workers gathered in large numbers at the party office in Lucknow and burst crackers. For the UP BJP activists, Holi was celebrated on March 11 itself with party workers sprinkling colours on each other and dancing to the beat of the drums. Crowds chanted Har Har Modi and Bharat Mata Ki Jai celebrating the party's victory.

On the other hand, the Samajwadi party wore a deserted look with party workers not turning up. At the Lucknow office, the Samajwadi activists removed the image of Rajiv Gandhi and replaced it with that of party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav. Mulayam largely stayed away from campaigning this time opposing the usurpation of the party organisation by Akhilesh. He was also opposed to the alliance with the Congress.
