Five arrested in connection with cricket match betting racket

Five people were arrested for cricket betting in Hyderabad on Wednesday at Talabkatta and collecting amounts from punters for the ongoing Champions League Twenty 20 (CLT20) matches, the police said.

The five allegedly took bets for a cricket match between Rajasthan Royals and Otago Volts at Jaipur yesterday, the police said.
Based on a tip-off, sleuths of the Commissioner's Task Force (South Zone) raided the location and found the accused involved in cricket betting, the police said.
A TV set, four cell phones, Rs 5,090 in cash and other equipment were seized from them. They were handed over to the Bhavaninagar police for further action, the police said.
