Farmer crushed to death in elephants’ attack

A farmer was killed and ten others were grievously injured when a herd of elephants raided the villagers at Kothakota village in V.Kota mandal of Chittoor district on Wednesday.

The injured were rushed to hospital. In another incident at Ramakuppam mandal in Kuppam constituency, another farmer was injured when the elephants damaged the fields. The villagers alleged that they were asking for protection from the elephants, but the forest officials have not taken any steps to control the menace.
