Entry Tax row: Relief to pvt vehicles

In a temporary relief to the private commercial vehicle owners of Andhra Pradesh, the AP High Court has directed the Telgangana government not to collect entry tax for a period of one week.

The vehicles would be issued certificates for this period.

However, the High Court has made it clear that this relief would be applicable only to those who approached the courts and not others. The others will have to pay the entry tax. The directions were given in connection with the petition filed by MP Kesineni Nani and others against the entry tax on commercial vehicles from Andhra Pradesh.
