East Godavari shut out for outsiders
Kakinada: The TDP Government is resorting to strong-arm tactics to weaken the Kapu movement.
On one hand, the police have deployed additional forces in Kirlampudi, the native village of Kapu patriarch Mudragada Padmanabham, and also elsewhere in East Godavari district.
On the other, District Superintendent of Police Raviprakash has announced that no outsiders would be allowed into the district. In view of the proposed hunger strike by Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham and his wife on Friday outsiders would not be permitted into the district, he said.
Also, 10,000 police personnel will be on duty to prevent any untoward incident, he said and added that 58 check-posts have been setup at all the entry points into the district. Four rapid action force platoons have also been deployed.
The Government has categorically said that it would not talk to Mudragada Padmanabham, whose deadline for Kapu reservations end on Thursday evening.
