Dussehra festival celebrated across East Godavari district - Sakshi Post

Dussehra which is also called Vijayadashami was celebrated all over East Godavari district with traditional gaiety and religious fervor here today.

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa, Thota Narasimham (MP) and District Collector Neetu Prasad also greeted people on the occasion.

Serpentine queues were seen at various temples in the district including the famous Annavaram Sri Satyanarayana Swamy temple, Draksharamam, Kotipalli, Samarlkota and other temples in Rajahmundry city and temples in P Gannavaram, Ambajipeta and Kakinada.

Keeping the heavy rush in mind, temple authorities made elaborate arrangements to meet the extra rush of devotees. Special poojas and prayers were offered to Goddess Durga for the Navrati (9-days) festival which would conclude with the immersion of Goddess Durga idols in the Godavari.
