Dr Reddy’s award ‘post SSC scholarships’ to 250 students
Hyderabad: Pharma major Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories on Monday presented scholarship to 250 students of government-run schools in Telangana for the academic year 2015-2016.
The scholarships were awarded to those students of 22 Zilla Parishad High Schools who completed their Secondary School Examination (SSC) with remarkable grades. The company has contributed Rs 25 lakh towards this initiative.
“There are several students from schools around Dr. Reddy’s manufacturing locations who are consistent top performers. However, due to lack of financial aid the students discontinue the education. To bridge this gap, the company identifies bright students every year and reward them with the post SSC Scholarship to pursue their higher education,” the company said in a statement.

The scholarships were presented to the students at Kallam Anji Reddy Vidyalaya (KARV), Madinaguda, in the presence of Anuradha Prasad, Managing Trustee, Dr. Reddy’s Foundation, Shamik Trehan, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Reddy’s Foundation, Dr. V Narayana Reddy, Vice President - Head IR & Corporate Affairs and Ramesh, District Education Officer of Rangareddy district.
Ms. Anuradha Prasad said that the gamut of the Foundation’s School Improvement Programme (SIP), taken up in 2011, included supporting Government schools in the rural areas with infrastructure that included drinking water programme and the like. For the past two years, the DRF was giving away scholarships, she said, adding that since then the merit of about 30,000 students was recognised.
