Doctor Commits Suicide Ahead Of Wedding

Hyderabad: A city doctor working in Karim Nagar committed suicide by injecting poison-mixed saline at his flat in Attapur on Sunday.

Dr. Shivanand, a radiologist who practised here in city and his native place Karim Nagar, was engaged to a girl and their wedding was scheduled to take place on March 8. The reception date was March 10.

According to the driver of the deceased, Shivanand went for shopping along with the bride-to-be and they had dinner at a restaurant before parting on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, he gave some money to the driver to go out and have his breakfast. By the time the driver returned, he locked the door from inside and the driver waited for a couple of hours thinking the doctor must be sleeping. When the doctor's father called him on the mobile phone, there was no response and subsequently he called the driver and asked him to check out.

As there was no response from inside even after lot of knocking, the driver and another person broke open the door only to find Shivanand dead. There was no suicide note left by the deceased and the family is left in utter shock as there was no reason whatsoever for him to take the extreme step.

After a post-mortem, the body was taken to Karim Nagar.
