Director Puri’s Assistant Cheats Aspiring Actress

Hyderabad: A woman identified as Krishnaveni alleged that an assistant director who works with Puri Jagannadh cheated her and also took money on the pretext of giving a chance in films. The woman hails from Ramapuram village in Khammam approached Jubilee Hills police station on Thursday and filed a cheating case against one C. Srinivas.

She told the police that she met Srinivas through a common friend Vicky. Later they developed good rapport and she gave him some money. After some time, the woman asked to give him a break in films, as he has connections with bigwigs in the film industry. To this, he asked to develop an intimate relation to get a chance.

"I didn't oblige to his demand and when I demanded my money back he started avoiding me," said Krishnaveni. However, Srinivas refuted her allegations and denied of knowing her. He added that he doesn't work as an assistant director but works as distributor for small films. A probe is on and further details are awaited.
