The Chennai Super Kings are doing all they can to get back their following from IPL 2016, after which they have not featured in the next two seasons due to involvement in the spot fixing scandal. Their re-entry brought a new definition to IPL 2018, especially to CSK fans. CSK are back with a crux of their core team, that featured since the inaugural season.

Captain MS Dhoni, who recently received Padma Bhushan, is joined with IPL’s highest run scorer, Suresh Raina, all rounder Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja and opener Murali Vijay. Local boy Ravichandran Ashwin, the new captain of Kings XI Punjab, will be missed by CSK fans.

Cricket fans across the world are excited for the opening match in which Dhoni’s boys will clash with Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians, following a glitzy IPL 2018 opening ceremony.

The Whistle Podu video features Dhoni, along with Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo, Murali Vijay and other teammates. In the video, Dhoni leads the pack that makes fancy dance moves to Tamil lyrics. Yesterday, the official Twitter page of Chennai Super Kings posted a video, which has been described, "The summer we've all been waiting for is here. Thala has returned and the yellow army is back. What are you waiting for? #WhistlePodu. #Yellove #SummerIsHere."


Defending champions Mumbai Indians are in pursuit of a consecutive IPL success this season, under Rohit Sharma. Although Rohit did not reveal his batting position, experts believe the Mumbai captain would prefer to come down to bat at his favourite third position, On the other side, CSK grabbed Mumbai’s veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh in the IPL Auction earlier this year.
