Depressed Over Job Insecurity, Telugu Techie Commits Suicide

Pune: A 25-year-old software engineer, hailing from Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh committed suicide here on Wednesday by jumping from the terrace of a hotel where he checked-in three days ago.

The deceased, who was identified as Gopikrishna Durga Prasad, had left a suicide note where he stated that he was worried about job security in IT industry and feared that he may not look after his family back home. Durga Prasad had earlier worked with software companies in Hyderabad and Delhi.

He joined a tech company in Pune three days ago. He checked into a hotel near Viman Nagar in the city. On Wednesday, Durga Prasad jumped to his death from the hotel building after leaving a suicide note, the police said.

The body was shifted to government hospital for postmortem. The police registered a case and launched investigation.
