Death toll rises to 23 in Tirupati Hospital

Deaths of children in Ruya Hospital in Tirupati are continuing. On Saturday, four more children died, taking the toll to 23.

Over 24 children said to be in a critical condition.

After several protests against the apathy of the government towards the continuing deaths of children including YSRCP MLA Bhumana Karunakara Reddy staged a dharna at the hospital, the government responded to childrens death today.

Special team from Hyderabad will be visiting the hospital today. The special team will be submitting the report to the government.

Meanwhile, parents of children are alleging that oxygen was in short supply and this was the reason for the deaths.
