Dattanna to root for Telangana if made a minister

“If I become a Union Minister, my first preference would be to protect the interests of Telangana region,” said BJP national vice-president and Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreya.

Speaking to reporters in New Delhi on Tuesday, he said he would accord priority to the irrigation projects and employment of the youth.

When asked about increasing proximity of MIM and TRS, Dattatreya said the MIM has the habit of latching on to the ruling dispensation. He demanded the the TRS to explain the logic behind its post-poll dalliance with the communal MIM.

Sources said that Dattatreya could become Minister of State for Railways. He had held the portfolios of railways and urban development earlier at the centre.
