Telangana Sees Surge in Liquor Sales During December Festivities

Telangana experienced a significant spike in liquor sales in December, totaling Rs 3,805 crore. The period between December 23 and 31 saw the highest sales, reaching Rs 1,700 crore - an increase of Rs 200 crore compared to the same time last year.

The daily sales figures during this festive period were as follows:

December 23: Rs 193 crore

December 24: Rs 197 crore

December 26: Rs 192 crore

December 27: Rs 187 crore

December 28: Rs 191 crore

December 30: Rs 402 crore

December 31: Rs 282 crore

The Excise Department attributed the surge in sales to the festive season and the New Year celebrations, which traditionally drive up demand for liquor across the state. This year’s increase marks a clear trend of growing sales during the year-end holidays.
