Cyberabad psycho killer on the run
Is a psycho on the prowl in the Cyberabad-commisionerate area? Is he responsible for the murder of single women? Does he have the support of another woman? The mystery behind the deaths of single woman in the last few months has deepened and raised the curiosity of the police.
There have been several cases of single woman being murdered in different parts of the city—2 each from Medchal and Neredmet, and one each in Nacharam, Ghatkesar and LB Nagar.
Although police think that there's a link to all murders considering only single women have been targeted so far, the question of who's doing the act remains a mystery.
Though no murders have been reported in the recent past, the very fact that the criminal is roaming scot-free and the police being clueless about the same has created a fear amongst people.
Unable to get any leads in the case, the Cyberabad police had also announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for any clue on the serial killer. However, there's no progress in the case.
All these murders have taken place between 9am - 2pm and 5pm - 7pm. Initially, this was seen as murder for gains or plainly for the sake of money. The police could not even find fingerprints as the murderer has left absolutely no clue behind.
Is it the work of a psycho?
Police are assuming that a psycho is behind these heinous crimes. Experts who examined all the five scenes of crime have observed a similar pattern with respect to modus operandi. It is being learnt that the murderer has only snatched away the jewels from the dead bodies and hasn't touched anything else in the house! This shows the act isn't that of a routine thief, but of a person who has turned a psycho. In two cases, the killer has slit the throat with a blade. In another case, the killer suffocated the woman with a pillow and also tied her legs and hands. in another case, a woman was hanged to the ceiling. One of the worst cases was where the woman was killed by banging her head to the floor.
The police who studied these cases have concluded that only a psycho is capable of performing such brutal acts of murder.
Is a woman helping the killer?
The police strongly feel that the act has been performed by two members and also suspect the role of a woman behind this. They suspect that the killers are doing these acts without leaving any room for suspicion by approaching the victims in disguise. Primary investigation suggests that the killers interacted with the victims on the pretext of asking for water, checking if their house was on rent or even checking if they wanted to subscribe to a certain newspaper or magazine.
Police suspect that the killers might have gained entry into the house with such excuses.
Some examples:
September 2011: In Neredmet, a woman named Surekha was approached asking if her house was on rent. The woman was found murdered and her jewels missing
August 2011: Vanaja Kumari, a resident of Saraswatinagar in Medchal was murdered. The killers made away with 8 Tolas of gold
August 24, 2011: In broad daylight, thieves gained entry into a house in Kakatiya nagar near Neredmet, killed the woman and made away with jewellery
In all the cases above, only single woman was targeted.
Being alert is the key: Police
The police has set up a special team to find the killer. The police has also ordered that the public be on alert. The police also has also instructed all the single woman to be more careful and not let any strangers into the house.
