Rs 4 Crores Seized in Saifabad, Banjara Hills: Eight Hawala Operators Nabbed

Hyderabad: A hawala racket handling transactions to the tune of Rs 4 crores was busted by the Task Force team on Wednesday. Multiple teams of Task Force busted the racket in simultaneous raids at various places in the city. In total, eight persons were apprehended by the police.

The west zone Task Force team caught hold of three persons--Prakash, Kiran Goud and Krishnam Raju, who were about to transport around Rs 2 crores from a businessman in Banjara Hills. The cash was allegedly collected to distribute to the voters in Sangareddy constituency.

In another raid by the west zone Task Force, Rs 45 lakh was seized from Sumith Agarwal at Saifabad, where he was supplying the money as per the orders of his employer.

Two persons, Sanjay Kumar and Yadagiri, were apprehended in Charminar area, where they were supplying Rs 50 lakh worth cash and 1,800 grams of gold biscuits to a hawala operator.
