Villagers Pelt Stones Injuring 5 Policemen
Muzaffarnagar: Angry villagers Thursday pelted stones on a police team which had gone to arrest a person accused of harassing a girl here, injuring five policemen, officials said.
A case has been registered against 100 people under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Law, Superintendent of Police (rural) Alok Sharma said.
Police booked seven people for allegedly beating family members of the victim who protested the harassment in Budhana town of the district.
Security has been tightened and additional police personnel have been deployed in the area. (PTI)
