Husband’s Extra-Marital Affair Drives Wife To Suicide 

Chennai: A woman committed suicide because of her husband's extramarital affair. The incident took place at Chennai.

The victim Pushpalatha (24) hailed from MGR Nagar. She and John Franklin fell in love with each other and got married two years ago against their parent's wishes. The couple has a one-year-old girl. Franklin works in Greater Chennai Corporation Park as a watchman. He began to neglect Pushpalatha since she was suffering from pleural tuberculosis from some time. He also had an extramarital affair with his colleague.

Pushpalatha learned of the matter and had an argument with her husband on Saturday. She also threatened to file a case in the police station. But Franklin said that the supreme court of India declared that extramarital affair is not a crime and added he would continue the relationship. A depressed Pushpalatha hanged herself on Saturday night. The MGR Nagar police learned of the matter and reached the place. They sent the body for postmortem and started an investigation.
