Man Undergoing Surgery In Secunderabad Hospital Dies, Family Protests
Secunderabad: Yadaiah (38) died in a private hospital during a surgery at Secunderabad. The victim's family alleged that he died because of the doctor's negligence. They protested in front of the hospital.
According to the police, the deceased patient from Chirala was suffering from a vascular disease. He approached a private hospital in Secunderabad and is reported to have consulted a vascular surgeon. The doctors advised him to undergo surgery due to a cancer tumor in the bloodstream which passed through the heart.
The surgery costs Rs 4 lakh and the patient paid Rs 3 lakh on September 24th and reportedly got himself admitted in the hospital. He was in observation on 25th and the doctors performed the surgery on 26th. At 9 pm, the doctors declared him dead, the victim's family said. They also protested at the hospital and filed a complaint against the hospital in Ramgopal police station. The body was shifted to Gandhi hospital for postmortem.
"It is a rare and complicated case. Since 1996, only 22 cases have been identified in the world. Surgery in such cases is difficult to live with. We had informed the family before the surgery, of the risks involved," said the doctors.
