Constable couple kidnap, torture girl to death
Sangareddy: In a gruesome incident, a police couple kidnapped, tortured and starved a five-year-girl to death in Sangareddy district.
As per reports, Rajendranagar-based couple Mohammad Mahabub and Reshma Begum lost their child Shahista Sabah aka Nauseen Begum in the Urs at KBS Dargah, Gulbarga on July 28 last year. Head constable Sayed Zakir Hussain, who came to the same Urs along with his wife and six children, kidnapped the girl to turn her into a domestic help in his home in Mallapur..
The five-year-old was made to do daily chores for Hussain's wife Razia Sultana. The police couple ill-treated and harassed her. Though some neighbours complained, neither the Bollaram police nor the Childline director took any action.
However, the police had to swing into action after SP Sumathi intervened.
DSP Tirupatanna rescued the child, who was in a critical condition. She died in the hospital after battling for life. Talking to media persons DSP said the couple tortured her and rammed her head to the wall. They inflicted burns using a red-hot needle.They also starved her for months.
This new item was published in Sakshi main edition on Tuesday. Seeing the baby, her parents rushed to Sangareddy and met DSP Tirupathanna. They were sent along with Kondapur police to Gulbarga for furthur investigation.
