Congress core committee meeting on Telangana begins

A crucial meeting of the Congress core group on Friday began at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's residence to discuss the Telangana issue.

Among those who met included party chief Sonia Gandhi,  A.K. Antony, Sushilkumar Shinde, Digvijaya Singh, Ahmed Patel and Ghulam Nabi Azad.

The core group meeting is likely to finalise the date for the meeting of Congress Working Committee (CWC), expected to take a final decision.

The state waits with bated breath to know what Congress Core Committee has to decide on the Telangana issue.
