Conduct ZPTC,MPTC elections immediately :SC

Supreme Court of India has asked the state election commission to immediately conduct ZPTC and MPTC elections in Andhra Pradesh.

The apex court asked the commission to release the related notification within two days.

“If the notification is not released within two days, it can be treated as contempt of court”, warned the court.

The court asked the state why the elections were not conducted in spite of being asked to do so on February 18,  2013.

It served the notices to the state government and the election commission to give reply on the matter.

The court ordered to conduct the ZP elections before the general elections.

It ordered the court to conduct Municipal, ZPTC and MPTC, Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in that order.
