Comeuppance for woman who blinded husband, eloped with paramour
In a shocking incident, a woman poured latex from calotropis plant into the eyes of her husband and eloped with her paramour. The incident, which happened two years ago, came to light when the husband lodged a complaint with the police on Wednesday.
According to the police, Raghavendra and Saritha were married and have two children. Raghavendra, a flower decorator for weddings and other functions, came into contact with one Gopal Reddy, a trader in steel, during the course of his business. Reddy slowly developed intimacy with Saritha and both planned to eliminate Raghavendra and elope.
On December 29, 2012, Saritha and Reddy poured calotropis latex into the eyes of a sleeping Raghavendra and eloped. She took her daughter with her and got her son admitted to a residential school.
Raghavendra, who was under treatment for over two years, could not get his eye sight back. A blind Raghavendra on Wednesday lodged a complaint, based on which the Nagole cops arrested both Saritha and Reddy, who are now staying together in LB Nagar.
